Our Story

Born from the spirit of Jugaad

India is not one kitchen. It is a million kitchens, each with its own fire, its own spice box, its own grandmother who insists her recipe is the only right one. Jugaroo was born from a simple, slightly mad idea: what if we tried to honour them all?

From the chaat stalls of Old Delhi, where a plate of pani puri can change your entire afternoon, to the dosa tawas of Chennai, sizzling before dawn. From the Amritsari kulcha ovens where bread blisters against clay, to the Indo-Chinese woks of Kolkata, where East meets East in a burst of chilli and soy. From the vada pav carts of Mumbai to the steaming idli baskets of Bengaluru, each bite a small universe of flavour.

The name comes from Jugaad — that untranslatable Indian genius for making something extraordinary out of whatever you have. It is the art of improvisation, of warmth, of feeding people with love and ingenuity. That is the spirit we cook with every day.

A menu without borders

Our menu does not belong to any single region. It wanders freely — from the Himalayan foothills to the Coromandel coast, from the Thar Desert to the Brahmaputra plains. Each dish is cooked the way it is cooked in the place it comes from, with the spices and techniques that generations have perfected. We do not fuse. We do not shorten. We simply bring India's many kitchens under one roof.

Sourced with care

The best Indian food begins long before the kitchen. Our spices are ground fresh each morning. Our paneer is set in-house, our chutneys made daily, our breads baked to order. We work with suppliers who share our obsession with provenance — from single-origin Kashmiri saffron to stone-ground atta from family mills. Because the difference between good and unforgettable is always in the ingredients.
